Tip #1 - LOCATION IS EVERYTHING
The neighborhood in which the house is located should dictate the level of materials and appliances used during a home renovation. Obviously, in a pricey neighborhood, installing laminate kitchen countertops may not enhance the home’s value, while installing marble in a lower-priced neighborhood is usually a waste of money. Match your investment in the home upgrades to the price level of the neighborhood. We can Help! (916) 451-9733
Tip #2 - GET THE MOST ON YOUR RETURN
Kitchens and baths get the most return on investment because they are the most frequented rooms in a house. They are also the rooms most likely to feel dated in a few years, so it is wise to keep the colors in permanent fixtures neutral, and avoid ultra-trendy designs. We can Help! (916) 451-9733
Tip #3 - EXTEND THE LIVING AREA
According to the NARI Home Improvement Council, adding a second bath, and adding addtional living space has become the latest trend and will yield high returns. In our mild California climate, adding a large outdoor living area makes good sense in a remodel. The extra living space can be enjoyed by the current occupants as well as offering good resale value. Tip #4 - SWEAT THE SMALL THINGS
If you don’t have the money or desire to invest in a costly remodeling project, there are smaller things you can do to make your home more enjoyable and attractive. Curb appeal is important. Does your home need a new front door, new garage door, or exterior paint? Perhaps new siding or a new roof would improve the appearance. New wall paint is an inexpensive fix to a “blah” interior. Consider other small fixes such as door and window trim, crown moulding, or new cabinet knobs or door knobs. We can Help! (916) 451-9733
